Growing Spaces Certified Growing Dome Builders

A Multi-talented group available to build your Growing Dome.

If you are a future dome owner contemplating whether to build the dome yourself, hire a local contractor, or have a Growing Spaces supervisor or crew come,
here is a page that may help you to make that decision.

Also, we have included a few quotes from dome owners who have had help from Growing Spaces recommended personnel.

These folk are all independent contractors and are not employed by Growing Spaces.
They build domes at the standard rates, outlined on Growing Spaces web page.

Diet: Prospective dome owners often ask “what shall I feed the crew- do they have any special diets?” So we have enclosed a few comments about this.

Nick Parsons
(Head supervisor-Semi Retired)

Head supervisor. Built the first Growing Dome in 1989. Only has one speed: full on. When not building domes he’s skiing, rafting, boating on Lake Powell, or meditating in front of the T.V.

Diet: Anything, no Caffeine, M&Ms with Almonds

We had a 26’ Dome put up 4-25-04 with the help of Nick. I am a general contractor and not a custom to Dome construction, with out Nick’s attention to detail and kindness it would have been a long drawn out project. It only took us 3 days with Nick around. Thanks Nick. --Ron, Reno, NV

Nick in Tank / Nick, Udgar and Rodney

"An expert in putting up Growing Domes. He is confident and knowledgeable enough to help both a beginner and an advanced builder. He kept things moving along smoothly but still made it fun. I wouldn't want to build a Growing

Dome without him." Toni Davison, Mesa, CO

“The amount of work that was accomplished in just one day was incredible. I hadn't considered how much time would be saved by having a builder who didn't have to check the instructions and follow them for the first time. Nick and Andrew had developed patterned, concise methods for building the structure which made them very efficient.”

Jo Cahill, Flagstaff, AZ

Pamela,

you and Rodney have made my growing experience complete by selling the Grow Dome to us, I love it and you both graciousiously have given your muscle and expertise to help us get the structure up, we can never thank you enough.

-Carol, Crestone Colorado

“I just wanted to tell you that I love my 22 Ft. dia greenhouse and your foreman was outstanding in getting it put together. I look forward in having a beautiful greenhouse throughout the year and excited about starting my planting process. Thanks again for the great service...

-Terry Mikeska, San Angelo, TX

“I have no doubt that the experience would have been radically different without professional guidance from Growing Spaces.  We would have eventually built the dome but not with the fluidity, speed and grace that we all enjoyed.”

Bill

(Supervisor/ Lead Crew Person)

Growing Dome Owner/ builder and installer in Training. Loves to travel. When not building domes he Does Video Production and Building dismateling, and an Artist.

I do eggs, but not straight. French toast and pancakes are great. Bagels and cream cheese work also for a breakfast snack. My usual is to brew Tazo Original Chai with rice drink and two shots of espresso (coffee instead works also) I prefer hot rice cereal to oatmeal and maple or agave syrup for sweeteners. Lunch can be tuna, boca burger (or similar), green drink (Naked Juice) potato salad, tabouli, burrito's (most any Mexican is great but no meat). Dinner is usually a smaller meal but then again if we work long hours then I may work up an appetite. Appetite for me is not the same as appetite for Rodney! Pizza or pasta, yes. Chocolate chip cookies.

Nick and Andrew were a huge help! They were not only skillful and knowledgeable about the structure but were also incredibly hard working and amazingly fast. They were pleasant and worked very well with out little crew. They were able to assess which tasks each of us could handle and clearly explained our jobs to us.”

You'll notice that Nick is the one on the level!

“Nick and Carole did a great job and were very skilled in their construction. I'm still a little tired from trying to keep up with them. We had fun working together and I would recommend using your Growing Spaces crew to anyone planning to construct a dome.”

- Paul Latulippe, Chino Valley, Arizona

Udgar Parsons
(Owner / Supervisor)

Founder of Growing Spaces, mad scientist and designer of the Growing Dome. Likes to come out of semi-retirement to build a dome now and then. Says “it keeps me young and helps me to be involved hands-on with the product.”

Udgar was able to supervise all activity and keep us moving forward at an exciting pace and everyone was able to contribute in a tangible way.”

Diet: Vegetarian; often travels with much of his own food.

“By the end of an exhilarating day one, the dome structure, (including glazing and vents), was erected.  By the end of a satisfying day two, our growing dome was complete… The students projected an attitude of pride, accomplishment and ownership.  They felt like they had contributed in a meaningful way to the creation of a legacy that immediately become an integral part of their school.”
